Was born in Muo, Yugoslavia in Montenegro on the Adriatic Coast, February 5, 1901. He was a Painter, illustrator, graphic artist, and photographer. Emigrated to US in 1908. His name was changed from Gratia Josef Prohaska to Raymond Joseph Prohaska at the suggestion of a school teacher. He became an American citizen.

Worked: As an art director in Chicago and New York for several years
before becoming a successful illustrator for major magazines including, Delineator, American Magazine, Ladies Home Journal, McCalls, Colliers, Redbook, Good Housekeeping, and The Saturday Evening Post. |
